Enterprise Order-to-Cash Transformation Across Business Lines

Enterprise O2C Transformation in Global Manufacturing

RESEARCH & DISCOVERY

The company -  a multinational operating across eight business lines -  faced major inefficiencies in its O2C process due to fragmented systems and decentralized teams. Each country managed receivables independently, with inconsistent dunning practices, delivery block logic, and no unified view of performance. This hindered cash flow, customer service, and enterprise control.

STRATEGY MAPPING

The vision was to design and implement a standardized O2C framework that could support global governance while allowing local flexibility. This required rethinking collections workflows, defining risk-based dunning strategies, and aligning operational rules across business units. Change management and stakeholder engagement were key success factors.

PROCESS ENGINEERING

  • Created a unified, enterprise-wide collections and dispute management process
  • Designed tailored delivery block/unblock rules by risk tier and business line
  • Standardized dunning workflows linked to customer profiles and payment behaviors
  • Defined ERP integration logic for SAP and Oracle systems to ensure consistency

TESTING & ITERATION

Oracle BI dashboards were used to track early adoption and performance KPIs. KPI baselines and statistical control charts were introduced to identify deviations and guide continuous improvement. Feedback loops were established across regions to refine processes in real time.

THE SOLUTION

  • Enterprise-wide O2C process designed and implemented across 8 business lines
  • Unified collections and dunning logic applied globally
  • Embedded real-time visibility via Oracle BI dashboards
  • ERP integration framework established for SAP and Oracle systems

THE OUTCOME

  • 17% reduction in overdue receivables within 6 months
  • 50% decrease in average days delinquent (from 8 to 4 days)
  • Improved customer service consistency and global performance control
  • Aligned cross-functional teams under one scalable process framework
